Simply out of curiosity considering were talking near auto tires, does the speedometer run off one of the forepart tires or the rear tire? The reason I ask you is if y'all change tire size would information technology not change the accuracy of this speedometer?

I tried using ceramic beads (3 oz) in my fronts because I couldn't use my Marc Parnes cones. When cold, they seem to stick together for the 1st 10+ miles causing a lot of vibration at speed. Afterward almost 10 miles the beads break gratis and the balance is good for the remainder of the day. I got the Combo cones from Marc and removed the beads (dismount/remount) and then balanced with weights.
    All good now.

Every bit mentioned, the speedo is driven by the rear tire (or something in the driveline). Aye, accurateness would be afflicted by changing tire size. MOST speedometers are a fleck 'optimistic', they volition show 70 mph while your GPS is showing annihilation from 67 to 69 mph. Going to a larger size volition reduce that error in the speedo, but information technology also slows down the odometer, which happens to be rather accurate.

Every bit far as balancing goes, the store where I had my Q5s mounted was able to do the fronts just fine. They could not practise the rear, then I simply took information technology domicile and put the axle through it and put it upward on jackstands. IF it'south out of balance, it'due south not very much. I did non add any weights. We have put on virtually 6000 miles since so with absolutely no issues.

ii oz in the fronts and 4oz in the rear makes for a smooth ride. Same smoothness as the OEM Kenda's with conventional wheel weights.

If you utilize beads, make sure they don't utilize too much bead lube as it will cause the beads to dodder up and be worse than ineffective.

Tire changers detest liquid products and someone will pass up to modify a tire with that in it.
